Return Retrieval

The Return Retrieval service available on the Solution Center allows you to retrieve current year and two prior years returns that were successfully transmitted to our EFC. Return Retrieval is only available for federal and state e-filed returns for the following types: 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041, 990 and 5500.

Download your Returns

  1. Log in to the ATX Solution Center as the Admin user.
  2. Click the Return Retrieval link located on the left side of the home page.

The 7216 license agreement displays the first time you click the link and you must click Accept to continue.

  1. Select the returns you wish to export; then, click Export Selected Returns.
  2. Click Save on the File Download dialog box.
  3. Once the download completes, click Close.

If you exported more than one return, your files are saved as a ZIP file. You need to right-click the ZIP file and Extract All.

After downloading the returns, you need to import them into ATX to access them.

Import Returns

  1. From the Return Manager, click the Returns menu.
  2. Expand the Import fly-out menu and select Returns.

The Import Returns dialog box appears.

  1. Navigate to the return(s) to be imported.
  2. Highlight the return(s) to be imported.

To select multiple files, hold the Ctrl key while highlighting the files.

  1. Click Open.
